Through macro shots of ice and snow we see the hopes and dreams of man ultimately consumed by the unforgiving brutality of the harsh environment in their quest for wealth.
Using the environment as a metaphor, human objects are frozen trapped in the ice, the snowflake reflects upon the fragility of life and a snowstorm the hysteria of the Gold Rush.
The second approch focuses on the journey, both geographical and psychological in the quest for gold. The burning desire that leads to violence and death. In a hand-drawn, painterly effect in keeping with the hard graft of the time when everything was laboriously done by hand. The animation would be fluid yet textural and gritty.
